PRESSURE SENSORS

Pressure sensors are available in gauge pressure, absolute pressure and vacuum formats in various ranges from zero to –100kPa and +60 MPa.. Operating accuracy is better than 0.5% of full scale including linearity and repeatability. These rugged pressure sensors have laser trimmed resistor temperature compensation.

Greyline’s SLT 5.0 continuously measures, displays, transmits and controls liquid level in storage tanks and pumping stations.

SLUDGE LEVEL (SLUDGE LEVEL DETECTIONS AND CONTROL IN CLARIFIERS AND THICKENERS)

Measuring the sludge blanket level in clarifiers or thickeners is challenging, but the EcoSmart has proved to be very reliable in South African applications. The smart sludge level sensor is mounted under water and an ultrasonic beam gives continuous sludge level measurements.

Isoil is an Italian specialist magnetic flow meter manufacturer focusing on the water industry.
Their most successful model is the battery-powered full bore flow meter suitable for line sizes up to 1,200mm! It has major accuracy and reliability advantages over mechanical meters and is used widely in water distribution and management applications.

MINE MAG FLOW METER - SLURRY, CAUSTIC, HCI, CYANIDE AND WATER
Flow measurement in mining is challenging: abrasive slurries, caustic, HCl, cyanide and water.  Isoil mag flow meters have proved to be robust and give long service in South African mines.

Greyline’s clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters are ideal for measuring flow of liquids containing bubbles, suspended solids or slurries and other “difficult” liquids.

GAS MASS FLOW METER/ CONTROLLER (THERMAL)
Sierra’s Mass-Trak meters measure and control the flow of any clean gas, including toxic or corrosive gases, in any range from 0 – 4 standard cubic centimeter per minute to 0 – 1 000 standard litres per minute.

DAQPRO MULTI CHANNEL LOGGER (Portable Professional Data Logger)
The DAQPro is an 8-channel, high resolution, portable data logging system for measuring voltage, current, temperature and frequency. The 16 bit A-D converter gives a linearity of ±0.08% of full scale.

MICROLOG
The MicroLog measures and logs temperature and humidity with its internal sensors. It also accepts an external sensor to record a third parameter. These logged values are displayed and logged for downloading to a PC. 

DISPOSABLE USB TEMPERATURE LOGGER
One of the biggest challenges in temperature logging on the move is getting the logged data back to the right person. The PicoLite has a nifty solution - when you configure the logger on your pc you simply enter your e-mail address. Once the logger has been retrieved at the end of the journey and plugged into a pc, the logged data is automatically e-mailed to you as a pdf temperature graph and report!

OXYGEN, ZIRCONIA
Continuous measurement of oxygen concentration in combustion exhaust gases can improve fuel efficiency and minimize the environmental impact of industrial boilers and furnaces. Fuji, a long-standing manufacturer of gas analysers, supplies a low-cost and robust oxygen analyser for these applications.

TOXIC GAS DETECTION WITH AUTOTEST
ATI’s two-wire gas detection transmitters are simple and reliable. They provide a LCD display of gas concentration and give a 4-20mA output with modbus and hart options.

Reliable and accurate gas leak detection is critical in maintaining safety in areas where toxic gases could be present.

GAS SAMPLE PREPARATION
Gas analysers require a clean, dry sample to produce accurate and reliable results. Filters remove entrained particles, but removing moisture from a sample without affecting the analytes is not so simple.

C0 AND 02 ANALYZER, LASER, DUAL BEAN
Fuji’s ZSS-6 is the world’s first analyzer which can measure C0 and 02 with one unit. The laser technology is extremely stable and reliable and can operate with process gases up to 1200°C. 

PAPERLESS RECORDERS
Fuji’s paperless recorders have no running costs, are easy to use and have high clarity displays and powerful maths functions. You have a choice of 3, 6, 9, 18 or 36 independent inputs with a measuring cycle of 100 milliseconds. Data is stored on a compact flash card which is used to display historic data or to quickly transfer recordered data to a PC.

STRIP CHART (INKJET) RECORDER
Fuji’s Microjet recorders are robust because they have typically only 30% of the moving parts found in conventional chart recorders! In addition , non-contact ink jet printing gives crisp colour recordings without mechanical wear.

CIRCULAR CHART
Rototherm’s circular chart recorders have been assembled in South Africa for many decades and continue to remain extremely popular where up to one day’s or one week’s data must be clearly visible.

Conoflow’s GT210 I/P Converter has become an industry standard as a reliable yet low-cost current-to-pressure converter. Used widely in control loops, it converts a controller’s 4-20mA output to 20 – 100 kPa of air to activate pneumatic valves. This versatile converter, weighing only 770g, accepts an air supply between 140 and 1000 kPa and has an overall linearity of ±0.75% of span. The I/P transducer can be mounted in any position and the range and zero adjustments are accessible from the front. 

Fuji is one of the world ’s largest suppliers of economical single loop controllers. The Fuji PX Range incorporates both fuzzy logic and PID autotune. These controllers “ learn” the process using PID parameters as a starting point. Fuzzy logic results in rapid, accurate adjustments to the process to reach setpoint in the shortest time possible, while virtually eliminating overshoot – even the over shoot associated with PID control! It also means a virtual ‘ lock-on’ to the target setpoint once it has been reached, without wandering.
